The hallmark of the typical IM online marketer is doing just enough, and that is a losing mindset. If you are willing to do the work, then you're a candidate for making a lot of cash on the net. If you do this and get it right, then you can just about write your own ticket in terms of what you can accomplish. And in other ways of saying it, you will be making your site performance much better. Beginners to IM are at a certain risk because they are prone to believing everything they read. Plus people may skip important pieces, and then you're working without all the cards in the deck. The reason this is so outrageous is because of the reading habits of online users because people skim and scan and barely take enough time to learn anything. You can find some very helpful and knowledgeable marketers at the better forums, but still be vigilant about what you read.

As of the fall of 2012, you can expect to pay for your listings within the search engines and for your products and product reviews. As of this article's writing, this is what Google has decided the state of affairs should be. But as you know, this may or may not come about because it's in the future. But Google has earned a good reputation for how they handle changes and when they make shifts. Obviously this is not a desirable development for small businesses. Bigger corporations with bigger budgets are better able to absorb new costs.

Thankfully you'll have some time to get ready and to change your budget in whatever way it needs to be changed. As always, it's a good idea to make sure that your marketing is as diverse as possible so that you are not dependent upon Google. When you look at things with an open and flexible mind, you can very often see new applications. There's nothing to stop you from taking something in another market or format and applying it to your business.
